Having played, trained and been friends with Ben for 7 years I can safely say that his determination and drive to succeed is a level above most athletes.
Finding a coach/athlete that has both the academic and practical knowledge of strength and conditioning is extremely rare, however Ben has combined his love of training with his academic studies to develop an understanding of S&C that is second to none, compared with other trainers. As a keen sportswoman from a young age, I’ve always had a pretty good strength and conditioning base to work from, but it wasn’t until working with Elite Kinetics that my strength gains began to increase to a noticeable level. As a javelin thrower strength and power is the key and with Ben’s technical knowledge my lifts were taken right back to basics and built from the ground up. In half a season working with him I have lifted my first 100kg deadlift, with a pb of 115kg (BW 62kg), my bench has increased from 52.5kg to 70kg, clean 65kg to 75kg, back jerk 60kg to 75kg, and I’ve learnt how to squat with correct form to full depth (none of this half squat business). Ben’s been extremely supportive and motivating throughout the 2011 competition season and I’m looking forward to working hard in the gym with him over the winter period. I’ll be coming out fighting in the 2012 season and I know Ben & Elite Kinetics will be with me every step of the way.

Having known and trained alongside Ben for 2 years, I have watched him grow, both physically and in terms of his knowledge in the strength and conditioning game. My involvement with Ben has gone from asking for the occasional tip in the gym to eagerly awaiting his next article, which will 9 times out of 10 improve the structure of my training, and or diet. A fantastic example of both comes from earlier this year. Having qualified for the UK’s strongest man under 80kg final I was looking for an improvement in both my muscular mass and strength. Through paying close attention to the bulking articles and dieting articles written by EK I was able to increase my muscle mass, and lean out as needed. This coupled with the various strength articles and strength advice given by Ben helped me achieve 6th place in the UK in my very first season of competition. Any advice given by EK is worth paying attention to because of the results I was able to achieve and its uniqueness in a field often bogged down by inferior products. Having watched Ben get bigger and stronger, it is testament that he practices exactly what he preaches, and gains the results.

Being just your average guy who wanted to look & feel better, at first I was skeptical of the real difference that working with Jamie and Elite Kinetics could provide. I was wrong. In just 6weeks  my squat went from 60kg for 8 reps to 75kg for 8, and my deadlift from 90kg for 8 to 110kg for 8. One of the main benefits for me from the program was that EK identified exercises I enjoyed, made me learn to love some of the ones I didn’t (and my body thanked me for it), and then tailored my workout to ensure I actually looked forward to hitting the gym 3 times a week. Additionally they helped to tidy my diet up in using simple yet highly effective approaches, making it hard for me to not be able to succeed. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend EK to anyone.

Ben has provided me with endless programming, technical, nutritional and mental advice since I entered the world of Powerlifting. Ben has applied his academic and training knowledge to a sport he has no personal competitive experience in but through following his advice I have managed to put 65kg on my total in less than a year and am moving closer to my short term goal of a 600kg unequipped total at 93kg bodyweight as a junior. Ben’s understanding of technique and specific assistance exercises to target certain weaknesses are second to none which have allowed me to make consistent and impressive gains in both strength and muscle mass.
